Yesterday I spent a solid 4 hours with my mastermind partner mapping out the growth plan for PressFixer. It was a productive session but I walked away feeling like I had to do a million things. My excitement was tempered by the magnitude of the work ahead… even though I know I have a team to help -I couldn’t shake the feeling that there must be a simpler way.
Today I went back into my notes and was reminded of an approach by Taki More from his book Million Dollar Coach. Even though I’m not a coach, this approach really spoke to me the first time and this time it was a breath of fresh air. It’s a process of ones – 1 target audience, 1 product, 1 conversion tool, 1 traffic source for 1 year.
The thing I was complicating was the traffic source – I had 6 different things on my list, which meant tons of content, lots of scheduling and lots of work. Sure, there’s a danger of having all my eggs in one basket with a single conversion tool and traffic source, but I can also pivot to one of the other ideas if it doesn’t work.
What’s the point of doing it all badly when you can focus on one thing that you do really well?
