They say a writer’s work is never done, and I feel like that’s especially true with my first book.
I was blown away by the support I received and by how many people wanted Wash Day for their boys.
I originally wrote this book for my daughter, but I’ve always felt I should have included something for the boys too. So I decided to mark the book’s first anniversary by doing just that.
The expanded edition will feature a few boy styles, the anatomy of hair, and a letter to the reader.
Wash Day is for everyone, and I hope boys enjoy seeing new possibilities in the expanded edition—and that girls with shorter hair are inspired to adapt the original styles to suit their hair.
I’ve loved seeing Wash Day fly off the shelves at the Toronto Public Library, and I hope this new version will help families with boys—or girls with shorter styles—feel even more included.
